The Gypsystyle Story

Gypsystyle is an eco-conscious company created with the vision that green living should be an easy and affordable choice regardless of individual lifestyle. It also stems from the belief that, if given the choice, people would buy alternative bags that offer an eco-friendly way to go about their day - while still maintaining their style.

Gypsystyle began in 2004 after Noel Cianci noticed people needed a variety of bag options to replace the unneeded and excessive use of disposable paper and plastic products. She believed we could all make a difference in the world simply by choosing what we carry to the grocery store, yoga studio or on a weekend retreat. But unlike the days of old, when reusable bags meant dull and boring, today you can wear your environmentalism on your sleeve without sacrificing style.

Throughout her childhood, Noel Cianci was always curious about traveling to new lands and exploring exotic cultures. This curiosity would not only earn her the nickname "Gypsy," but it would grow into a lifelong passion and eventually, the name of this rising lifestyle brand.

After 12 years of jet setting between New York and Los Angeles as an established fashion and celebrity stylist for A-list clients who included Sting, Diana Ross and Scarlett Johansson, Noel left the scene behind to unearth her photography passion. All her time spent styling photo shoots and working with legendary fashion photographers naturally began to groom Noel's eye for photography. It was behind the lens that Noel's vision came into focus when she was shooting abroad, and found that people naturally made use of discarded things, such as plastic, wrappers and flip-flops. She saw that miscellaneous pieces of our lives could be melted down and woven into a fashion-forward textile.

This epiphany led to the development of her signature "weightless" and water-resistant fabric used for all Gypsystyle bags. Colorful and durable, Gypsystyle's selection of eco-fabulous bags is constructed from recycled plastics, which reduce the landfill masses, and are brought to buyers in the form of reusable arm candy.
